Standards

School of Eden believes in Bible-based, practical education that IS HOLISTIC, PREPARING THE YOUTH FOR SUCCESS IN THIS WORLD AND THE ONE TO COME.

Standards are learning goals that outline what a student should know and be able to do at the end of each grade. These ensure that all students complete their studies with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college, career, and life, regardless of where they live.

School of Eden references the following specific standards as guide for its project designs:

  • Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts (ELA) and Math
  • Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science
  • National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies (NCSS) for Social Studies
  • Core of Adventist Education Curriculum
1

Science

The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are states-developed K–12 science content standards. One of the goals of its development is the creation of research-based, up-to-date standards that offer flexibility to design learning experiences while preparing learners for college, careers, and citizenship.*

2

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS (ELA)

3

MATHEMATICS

The Mathematics Common Core Standards define what students should understand and be able to do in their study of mathematics. It encourages students to solve real-world problems.

4

SOCIAL STUDIES

The National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies (NCSS) is organized into three parts: knowledge, processes, and products.

“His [Jesus’] education was gained directly from Heaven-appointed sources; from useful work, from the study of the Scriptures and of nature, and from the experiences of life.”
